Holland America Line Brings Magnolia Bakery's Banana Pudding Onboard for 2026-27 Caribbean Season

Holland America Line has announced a new culinary partnership with New York's famed Magnolia Bakery, bringing the bakery's signature Banana Pudding onboard for the first time as part of celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.
A Milestone Partnership at Sea
The collaboration represents a notable first for both brands. According to Michael Stendebach, Holland America Line's vice president of food, beverage and rooms division, the partnership reflects a shared commitment between the two brands to creating memorable guest experiences, offering travellers the chance to enjoy one of Magnolia Bakery's most recognised desserts while sailing through the Caribbean.
Stendebach added that introducing the dessert onboard is a fitting tribute to the upcoming 30-year milestone of Half Moon Cay, a destination that has played a defining role in shaping the cruise line's Caribbean culinary identity.
For Magnolia Bakery, the move marks new territory entirely. Bobbie Lloyd, the bakery's chief brand officer and chief baking officer, confirmed this is the first time its desserts will be served at sea, describing the partnership as a natural extension of how the brand continues to share its offerings with guests in new and creative ways.
What Guests Can Expect
Guests sailing on Holland America Line's Caribbean cruises throughout the 2026-27 season will be able to enjoy Magnolia Bakery's Banana Pudding in the Lido Market. The dessert's signature creamy texture comes from a distinctive preparation method using familiar, comforting ingredients — and to ensure an authentic result at sea, Holland America Line chefs trained directly alongside Magnolia Bakery's team in New York ahead of the rollout.
A Wider Celebration of Caribbean Flavours Onboard
The Banana Pudding partnership sits within a broader showcase of Caribbean-inspired dining across Holland America's fleet this season. In the main Dining Room, guests can look forward to regional specialities served across every course, including Rum Barbeque Chicken Wings, Jamaican Braised Oxtail, Tomato Braised Pork Ossobuco and Pineapple Upside Down Cake.
The line's Global Fresh Fish programme also features locally sourced options such as roasted grouper and spiced Barramundi, while the Lido Market offers a dedicated Caribbean Seafood Boil. Guests can further enjoy a Caribbean Brunch, a Caribbean Teatime, and a themed Caribbean dinner served around the Lido Pool.
Regional Drinks and the Rum Ambassador Programme
Rounding out the Caribbean-themed offering, Holland America Line's Rum Ambassador programme — available exclusively on its Caribbean sailings — gives guests access to more than 35 distinct rum selections, adding a further regional touch to the season's culinary and beverage experience.
Why This Matters for Cruisers
Dining has become an increasingly important factor in how travellers choose a cruise line, and partnerships with recognisable culinary brands like Magnolia Bakery add genuine novelty for returning and first-time cruisers alike. For guests booking a Holland America Caribbean cruise for the 2026-27 season, this partnership offers one more reason to look forward to what's on the menu, not just what's on the itinerary.
